Bahrain weather, even in winter, requires special care for your Gauss motorcycle. Here is what to check:
1. Oil and Filter Check
Winter riding means more idle time and cooler temperatures. Check your oil level and condition every week, and change the filter according to your service manual schedule.
2. Chain and Sprockets
Cold weather can make chain lube thicker. Clean and re-lubricate your chain every two weeks in winter, paying special attention to the rear sprocket teeth.
3. Braking Performance
Cooler temperatures can affect brake fluid viscosity. Ensure your brakes feel responsive, and consider a service inspection if they feel soft or grabby.
4. Tyre Pressure
Lower ambient temperatures reduce tyre pressure. Check your tyre pressure weekly and inflate to the spec in your owner manual — proper pressure improves safety and fuel economy.
5. Battery Health
Cold weather stresses batteries. Test your battery voltage and ensure all electrical connections are clean and tight. A weak battery in winter can leave you stranded.
6. Weatherproofing
Spray electrical connectors with contact cleaner and protectant to keep moisture out. Check your seat and cover for water ingress.
